La Mine Brewery in Bex: A Wonderful Local Story
Imagine a group of friends in Bex in 2016. They were thirsty, they loved their region, and they dreamed of creating their own beer. That’s how Brasserie La Mine was born—a brewing cooperative inspired by the famous Bex Salt Mines.
It all started on a local Facebook group. Michael Dupertuis and about fifteen other enthusiasts launched the venture in a garage, brewing batches of 80 to 100 liters. The first beers had evocative names: Baramine, Minette, Carmine. Local water, a friendly atmosphere, and a strong connection to the region were at the heart of the project.
Today, La Mine offers seven regular beers, including their signature caramel-flavored stout, "Baramine," as well as special editions and even gin. The restaurant, with its gourmet cuisine, is the perfect place to explore delicious beer-and-food pairings. People also come here to tour the facility, attend concerts, or extend a stroll through the Salt Mines.
It is in this spirit of sharing and community involvement that the Chalet RoyAlp Hotel & Spa has partnered with the brewery to create an exclusive beer: Mignone. A smooth, fruity IPA, reminiscent of a summer evening in the mountains, which you can enjoy at our restaurants Le Rochegrise, BeAr’s Bar, and Le Refuge.
