The era of sustainability at Chalet RoyAlp with the "Swisstainable" label
The Chalet RoyAlp Hotel & Spa is stepping up its commitment even further!
We are now Swisstainable Level II certified, and we remain fully committed to our efforts to become a greener and more responsible business. As sustainability is one of our core values, this certification officially recognizes and confirms our commitments.
What is the Swisstainable label?
Developed by Switzerland Tourism in collaboration with the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), Swisstainable is Switzerland’s national tourism sustainability program. Created “by the tourism industry, for the tourism industry,” it aims to support the sustainable development of Switzerland as a destination while helping travelers navigate the many existing labels. It distinguishes three levels of commitment: Level I (Committed) for an initial step, Level II (Engaged), which attests to concrete commitment and recognized certification in at least one area of sustainability, and Level III (Leading) for the most advanced establishments.
Our concrete commitments
We prioritize strong local roots by featuring producers and seasonal products from the Vaud Alps in our cuisine. We manage our energy consumption through renewable energy sources and optimize water management. Committed to biodiversity, we actively support its local preservation, notably by installing beehives in the hotel’s gardens. Ideally located in the heart of Villars-sur-Ollon and accessible by mountain train, we encourage sustainable mobility and public transportation. We also place human development at the center of our priorities through ongoing training for our teams, retaining local talent, and fostering a fulfilling work environment.
“The Chalet RoyAlp Hotel & Spa is located at the heart of the treasures offered by the beautiful country of Switzerland. This is one of the reasons why we are committed to developing our hotel with a focus on sustainability and positioning ourselves as a responsible establishment. ” — Egbert Buursink, General Manager of the Chalet RoyAlp Hotel & Spa
This certification marks another important step for us toward greener tourism. Our goal is to continue making progress and to inspire other stakeholders in the mountain region to follow this path.
